Hey guys and gals! So i've decided to try something new on here, and link up with the lovely Kacey over at Doodle Bugs Teaching for her weekly "Five for Friday" posts. Basically it's a weekly sum-up all in one post of what's been going on in my life. If you'd like to learn more, please jump on over to her blog and find out more :) So, without any further ado... here goes nothing!
Periscope
This app has very quickly become my new social media obsession! The week started out with me following a of couple teachers (live) sharing things like their classroom set-up or various resources and developed into me (somewhat) overcoming my nerves and doing a couple of my own live broadcasts. The advice I got from other teachers was to start out by introducing yourself and then to simply share what you are passionate about :)

Hiking
This week i've been able to spend some quality time with my spouse's family. We have done a number of fun activities but one of my favourites has been a hiking trip to the Collingwood Hills. We hiked up what felt like a mountain for an hour then descended into some amazing caves, some of which were so small I could barely squeeze myself through! Next came, what for it... Zip lining! It was a double zip, half-mile zip line down the whole hill over lots and lots of tree tops. We ended with a more relaxed hike over a suspension bridge and past some water. WOW! What an adventure that was :)
I'm on a Boat
Growing up my family did not have the luxury of owning (or renting) a boat or cottage to enjoy our summers together. We did things the old-fashioned way - making our front yard into a campground, among other things lol. This week, I was out on the waters of Georgian Bay with my spouse Michael's family, not once, but twice! His dad recently bought a new boat and we were fortunate enough to enjoy his company and his boat ;) Swimming, fishing and boating, oh my! I truly felt like a kid again and enjoyed every minute of it.
Teacher Haul
Somewhere this week I found time to stop in at the Dollar Tree here in the big city. I love the Dollar Tree because they have a dedicated teacher section with printables, posters, flash cards, you name it! And the best part of all is that everything in the store is only $1.25! Yep! Being a fairly new and broke teacher, means that I am always on the hunt for things on the cheap. Don't get me wrong, I still look for quality but I LOVE when I can find things at a discounted price ;)
Well that's it for now, I hope you enjoyed my first #FiveforFriday post! I sure did, and can't wait to see what next week brings :)
Nothing better than being on a boat. Enjoy your long summer days.

Thanks Paula! It's been pretty phenomenal :) A little sad to think about how quickly the new school year is approaching but i'm also excited (of course) for a fresh start. Hope you are enjoying your summer as well!
